Marriage has absolutely nothing to offer to the African boychild

The typical African male child has a great challenge in life compared to his female vis-à-vis. See, in their twenties, African children who are now no longer children are expected to move out of their parents’ houses. The female child, only has to say yes to a marriage proposal and that’s it! They’re out.
Our poor boychild? Not so lucky. He has to find a way to build a home before he can even think about proposing a marriage. Woe be unto him if he’s lazy, or let’s say, not so fortunate. Few ladies would say yes to a homeless man’s proposal but assuming they all would, how is the boy going to keep the “home” running?
To make matters worse for him, he was born in a society that was largely patriarchal, therefore, as the head of his family, his wife and kids look up to him in many areas for provision. Thus, he is doomed to be depressed for life as he provides in a society whose living standards are rising everyday. Ever wondered why women generally live longer than men?
The African society has very low expectations on the woman. Therefore, we can safely conclude right here that marriage has nothing to offer to the African boychild, save for a quick death.
Maybe our feminists should channel their energy towards restructuring the family as the functional unit. Maybe our African women should also work and build homes and bring the men in the homes during marriage.
